SYL Case, NasDem Receives Ministry Of Agriculture's Money Of Almost IDR 1 Billion

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party is said to have received money from the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) which was sourced from the collection or sharing of echelons I of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) of around Rp. 965 million. The acceptance took place during the period 2020 to 2023.

This was conveyed by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) when reading out the facts of the trial originating from witness statements during the judicial process.

"The Nasdem Party 2020-2023 is IDR 965,123,500," said Attorney Meyer during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, June 28.

The prosecutor detailed some of the receipts, including when the money was handed over to Joice Triatman as Deputy Treasurer of the NasDem Party. Its designation is for the briefing of the 2023 NasDem Party Candidates.

"The Rp850,000,000 cash for the briefing of the 2023 NasDem Party candidate was received by Joice Triatman as Deputy Treasurer of the NasDem Party," he said.

Then, the handover of Rp50,000,000 by transfer by Arif Sofyan to Bank Mandiri's account on behalf of the NasDem Party Faction

There was also the handover of Rp25,000,000 from Arif Sofyan which was transferred to Bank Mandiri's account on behalf of the NasDem Party.

SYL was called by the prosecutor in the indictment, obtaining Rp44.2 billion and US$ 30 thousand during his tenure as Minister of Agriculture (Mentan). The money was obtained from echelons I of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) by forcing it.

"The amount of money obtained by the defendant during his tenure as Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia by coercion as described above is a total of IDR 44,269,777,204 and 30 thousand US dollars," said the prosecutor.

In this case, SYL was sentenced to 12 years in prison. The prosecutor believes that the former Minister of Agriculture's statement fulfills the elements of Article 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code
