Celebrity @claysss, Whose Online Gambling Promotion Is Paid IDR 3 Million, Has Student Status In Bogor City
Bogor City Police (Polresta), West Java, arrested a female celebrity with the initials CN (19) for promoting online gambling on her Instagram account @clayssss.Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso said CN had promoted online gambling on his Instagram account for about a month and received a fee of Rp. 3 million."It's only been a month. (The money) is used for living expenses, renting a boarding house. The suspect is a student in Bogor," Bismo said when releasing the case quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 26.CN was initially offered by someone named Natali to promote online gambling sites on his Instagram account for IDR 5.5 million a month.After reaching the agreement, CN, which was used as brand ambassador (duta jenama), uploaded the online gambling site twice a day to his 17,900 followers."However, suspect CN has only received Rp. 3 million because it has been quickly arrested by the Bogor City Police. We secure the suspect along with evidence of chat (conversation) and money transactions sent to CN," he explained.Bismo added that the arrest of CN was the result of cyber patrols carried out by the Bogor City Police.He also appealed to the public to report to the police if they saw accounts on social media promoting online gambling.
In this case, suspect CN was charged with gambling articles in the Electronic Information and Transaction Law Number 1 of 2024 with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison."Whoever transmits electronic transactions containing gambling is threatened with a sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 billion," said Bismo.
