The Ministry Of Transportation Will Build An Airline Bridge Connecting Batu Ceper Station With Poris Terminal

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) plans to build a flyover connecting the Batu Ceper Station with the Poris Plawad Type A Terminal.

Director of Infrastructure for BPTJ, Zamrides explained that this development aims to improve safety and comfort for pedestrians and users of public transportation.

Furthermore, Zamrides explained that the construction of the Poris Plawad skybridge has been proposed in the 2025 Budget Plan. This Skybridge will not only connect the Poris Plawad Terminal with Batu Ceper Station, but also serve as a safe crossing for pedestrians.

"This is very important to improve transportation safety, especially for pedestrians and users of public transportation, as well as unite the northern and southern areas separated by the railway lines and the Betawi Fort Highway," Zamrides said in an official statement, Monday, June 25.

Zamrides added that the construction of this skybridge will also be accompanied by restructuring of zoning and passenger movements at the Poris Plawad Terminal.

"This arrangement is expected to support the Poris Plawad skybridge development program and ensure more regular and efficient passenger movements," he said.

He said that the construction of this skybridge will also prioritize inclusive principles for users with disabilities, so that all users can benefit from this facility.

As part of efforts to increase the comfort of public transportation users, the Tangerang City Government has also committed to providing park and ride facilities.

"This facility will facilitate passenger access to terminals and stations, thus creating better integration between various modes of transportation," he explained.

In addition, the Tangerang City Government will also assist in the licensing process under its authority.

This shows a strong synergy between various parties in realizing this project.

Full support also came from the Jakarta Class 1 Railway Engineering Center (BTP), which is ready to assist in the licensing process under the authority of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).

As a strategic step to optimize the use of skybridges, later the southern door of Batu Ceper Station will be closed once the skybridge operates. This step aims to direct passengers to a safer and more efficient lane.

"With the presence of this skybridge, we hope to provide a significant improvement in terms of accessibility and safety for users of public transportation in the region," Zamrides said.

Currently, BPTJ is also conducting a survey in collaboration with the Transportation Policy Agency of the Ministry of Transportation to obtain the characteristics of travelers and the perception of travelers in relation to the conditions of the Poris Plawad Terminal, Batu Ceper Station, and mode integration facilities as well as plans to develop integration facilities in the future, including the Skybridge Poris Plawad.

"It is hoped that this survey data can be used as an analysis material in this study, so that recommendations can be produced for the development of further integration facilities. The survey link can be accessed at the following link: bit.ly/SurveiSkybridgePorisPlawad," he said.
