Ridwan Kamil's Nomination In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election Is Called Airlangga Not Final
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto said that the nomination of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil for the Jakarta regional elections was not final or still under discussion.
"Yes, it is still under discussion," said Airlangga, who is also the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 20.
Airlangga neither confirmed nor denied reports that the coalition party had approved Ridwan Kamil to run for the Jakarta regional elections, but according to him, it was still in progress.
Meanwhile, when asked about the internal desire of the Golkar Party for the nomination of a man who is familiarly called Kang Emil, Airlangga said his party was still considering and monitoring whether to nominate Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta or West Java elections.
Separately, the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) who is also the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan said that until now his party was still encouraging Ridwan Kamil to run for the Jakarta regional elections.

"Yes, we are Jakarta (investigating) Ridwan Kamil. (If) representatives haven't, it's still being discussed," said Zulkifli Hasan.
However, Zulkifli Hasan admitted that the decision to carry Ridwan Kamil to run in the Jakarta regional elections could still be discussed again, especially regarding the assumption that Ridwan Kamil's electability was not yet the highest in Jakarta.
"Yes, it will be discussed again," he said.
