Denies Megawati Meets With Moeldoko To Discuss Democrats, PDIP: Heretical Without Evidence
JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General, Hasto Kristiyanto, denied the information that there was a meeting between PDIP General Chairman Megawati Soekarno Putri and Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko.
The meeting which was called to discuss the results of the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) of the Democratic Party, he said, had never happened and was baseless.
"Unilateral report by Tempo Newspaper that it seems there was a meeting between the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri and Mr. Moeldoko was completely baseless and the meeting did not take place at all," said Hasto in a written statement to reporters, Monday, March 15.
The news that Hasto meant was entitled 'Former Commander Visits Mrs. Mega'. In this report, it was stated that Moeldoko talked a lot about the reasons for being proposed by a Democratic cadre like Jhoni Allen Marbun, while Megawati only listened.

According to Tempo Newspaper, the editorial team has tried to clarify with related sources, including those from PDIP, by contacting Hasto. However, no one answered requests for interviews and clarification.
"What was reported by Tempo Newspaper violated journalistic principles and ethics," said Hasto.
Furthermore, he emphasized, party cadres bearing the bull emblem were taught never to intervene in the household affairs of other political parties. Moreover, PDIP had experienced the same thing when the second President of the Republic of Indonesia Soeharto was still in power.
"The party chairman also has the experience of being betrayed, but at the same time we prefer to consolidate, unite with the people, and build confidence, Satyam Eva Jayate that the truth will prevail," he said.
