Walkot Mbak Ita Plans To Build 3 Junior High Schools In Semarang In 2025
JAKARTA - The Semarang City Government (Pemkot) plans to build three state high schools (SMP) by 2025 to absorb elementary school graduates (SD) in areas where there are still few junior high schools.
"This year, state junior high schools have not yet been built, only in 2025 can they be pursued (development, ed.) three state junior high schools," said Semarang Mayor (Walkot) Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, who is familiarly called Mbak Ita in Semarang, Friday, June 7, as reported by Antara.
According to him, the plan to build a new junior high school in Semarang has actually been around for a long time but it does require stages, such as the creation of DED (detail engineering desin).
"By 2023 we cannot make DED because the budget (APBD, ed.) has been discussed in 2022, 2023 cannot, the new preparation in 2024 is prepared by DED. So, at the end of 2024, I ask for an early auction," he said.
Thus, he said, when the 2025 APBD was later ratified, it could already have three new state junior high schools which were estimated to not take up to one year for the construction process.
"Only six classes, not until a year. If possible in 2025 (add, ed.) three new junior high schools so that the capacity can increase by 540," he said.

Each public junior high school, he continued, for the initial stage six classes were built with each class accommodating 30-32 students so that the total could accommodate 180 students for each school.
Later, he said, in 2025 DED will be made again to map the needs of public schools in areas where there is a lack of access to schools in Semarang City.
"In 2026 (rebuilt again, ed.). In 2025, DED will be made, where else is the need for junior high schools in other areas," said the first female Semarang Mayor.
In addition to junior high schools, Ita said that her party also received a letter of application from the Central Java Provincial Government to prepare land for the construction of state high schools (SMA) on land owned by the Semarang City Government.
He admitted that the provincial government does not have a lot of land in the regions as many district/city governments as it needs to be facilitated by land for the construction of educational facilities.
"I am ready for land. The city government will prepare for land if the province has prepared a budget for establishment, physical development for high school," he said.
