West Lombok Police Arrest Fugitive Case Of Santriwati Obscenity At Sekotong Islamic Boarding School
The West Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, arrested a man with the initials AM (50), a fugitive in a sexual harassment case against four female students at a boarding school in the Sekotong area.
West Lombok Police Chief AKBP Bagus Nyoman Gede Junaedi confirmed that AM, who was previously included in the search map, has now been detained in the detention room of the West Lombok Police Headquarters.
"Last night's arrest and now a detention has been made," said Gede Junaedi, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 7.
The police have made arrests and detentions based on the investigation process which has obtained evidence from the results of requests for information from victims, post-mortem evidence, and experts.
Investigators have confirmed that the Police Chief has named AM, who is also the leader of the boarding school, as a suspect.
Investigators named AM as a suspect by applying the allegations of Article 81 paragraph (1), paragraph (2) and paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 76 D and/or Article 82 paragraph (1) and (2) jo. Article 76 E of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

The police chief emphasized that his party would handle this case thoroughly.
"We are committed to thoroughly investigating this case and providing justice for the victims. AM's arrest is proof of our seriousness in handling this case," he said.
Suspect AM in this case of sexual harassment by female students has been on the wanted list (DPO) since fleeing on May 8, 2024.
The suspect did this when there was a reaction from a group of people who came to attack and destroy the boarding school. The attack was in the aftermath of the alleged suspect sexually harassing female students.
