Demonstration Against Tapera At The Horse Statue Disbanded, PPSU's Turn To Clean Up Waste

JAKARTA - The mass of workers who held a demonstration against Tapera (Public Housing Savings) at the State Palace finally disbanded, Thursday, June 6, at around 14.00 WIB.

The mass group that attended this demonstration came from labor parties and other labor elements, namely the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI).

The mass group of workers who will participate in the demonstration gathered in front of the Jakarta City Hall at around 10:00 WIB, then held a long march to the State Palace.

"Massa has disbanded this afternoon. Everything is running smoothly," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Ipda Ruslan when confirmed.

From VOI's observation at the location, the Medan Merdeka Barat Road section from the Palace towards the Horse Statue Roundabout can be passed by vehicles. Meanwhile, the Medan Merdeka Barat Road section towards the Palace which is covered by a concrete fence has also begun to reopen.

Meanwhile, the protesters had disbanded at 14.00 WIB. PPSU officers were then dispatched to the location to clean up the Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat section.

"We cleaned the garbage on the road because the demonstration was over," said one of the PPSU officers at the location.
