Demonstration Against Tapera And UKT, Hundreds Of Masses Dressed In Black Crowded Horse Statue Areas

JAKARTA Hundreds of mass demonstrations that dominated black clothes packed the Horse Statue Area, Central Jakarta, Thursday afternoon, June 6. The masses joined various elements, one of which was the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) which rejected the People's Housing Savings (Tapera) program to Single Lecture Money (UKT).

Monitoring at the Location, as many as 4 buses came with a mass demonstration against Tapera. They arrived since 10.10 WIB with various attributes.

A mass was seen dressed in black with a head covering that reads the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI). In addition, there is also a mass dressed in green with the words Federation of Mining Energy Workers Unions (FSPKEP).

There was also a banner that read "Reject PP on Tapera", "Revoke the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law" and "Reject the rules of the KRIS BPJS Kesehatan".

"Individually we fight together to defend our rights. Let's fight together, in the midst of the hot sun we both maintain what is our right, enthusiasm," said the coordinator of the action through loudspeakers from the top of the command car. Police secure and prepare to be on standby at every point of the Horse Statue Area, Central Jakarta, with a total of 1,626 personnel. The President of the Labor Party who is also the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal said that he and the workers would protest to express their rejection of PP Tapera.

"In addition, workers will voice demands to revoke the PP regarding the BPJS Health Standard Inpatient Room (KRIS) program, reject expensive Single Lecture Money (UKT), revoke the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law, and remove Outsourcing Against Cheap Wages (HOSTUM)," Said said in a written statement.
