Thousands Of Hectares Of Rice Fields In Subang Drought
Thousands of hectares of rice fields spread across several areas of Pantura, Subang Regency, West Java, experienced drought this year.
"It's already the dry season, and the impact has been felt in the agricultural sector," said Head of the Subang Regency Agriculture Service, Nenden Setiawati, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4.
According to the Subang Agriculture Service records, drought has occurred in recent weeks due to reduced water supply for the agricultural sector during the dry season.
There are about 2 thousand hectares of rice fields that experience drought. Most of them are spread across a number of areas of Pantura Subang, such as in the Ciasem District and Blanakan District.
His party has submitted a request for water pump assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture.
"We have submitted assistance for water pump machines to the Ministry of Agriculture to distribute 200 units of aid. But until now only 95 units of water pump machines have been realized," he said.
The Ministry of Agriculture was immediately added to the assistance of water pump machines to Subang. So that it can help farmers in the dry season as it is today.

Due to the current drought, farmers cannot do much. Some rice fields in the Pantura Subang area cannot be used to grow, and are still a place to herd goats.
Currently, Subang is in the third position in the rice barn area in West Java after Karawang and Indramayu Regencies.
The area of rice fields in Subang has so far reached 89 thousand hectares. Meanwhile, the average rice harvest area in the Subang area reaches 156,298.50 hectares per year. Meanwhile, the average rice production reaches 7 tons per hectare.
