5 Of 62 Rohingya Refugees Escape Arrested In Langkat, North Sumatra, Police: The Reason They Escaped Was Because They Were Hungry
JAKARTA - The Tanjung Pura Sector Police (Polsek) in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra (Smut) arrested five of the 62 Rohingya refugees who escaped from a shelter in the National Building.
"Five Rohingya refugees have been found, now they have returned to the shelter," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Pura Police, Iptu Kaspar Napitupulu when contacted from Medan, Tuesday, June 4, confiscated by Antara.
Kaspar continued that the five Rohingya residents fled from the shelter on Monday, May 3.
After receiving the report, he said his party immediately looked for the refugees.
On the same day the police officers got the five Rohingya people still in the Tanjung Pura area and immediately took them back to the shelter
"When interrogated by officers, the reason they fled was because they were hungry," said the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Pura Police.
Previously, this Rohingya refugee arrived in Kwala Langkat Village, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.
The arrival of Rohingya refugees stems from information from residents of Kwala Langkat Village on Wednesday, May 22, who were stranded on the seafront of the local area.

After that, Rohingya refugees were found by villagers walking towards the settlement of Kwala Langkat Village which was previously from the sea.
After Rohingya refugees arrived on land, the Tanjung Pura Police carried out data collection on numbers and identities.
After that, a health check was carried out by the local Puskesmas, fingerprinted and provided logistics in the form of drinking water and food.
Then the Rohingya refugee was taken to the Tanjung Lampu Beach hall, Ujung Damak, Hamlet 4 of Kwala Langkat Village in complete condition at the Langkat Regency BPBD tent escorted by joint officers from the TNI, Polri and related agencies.
