Police Dismantle Fake Oil Factory In Tangerang Regency With Turnover Of IDR 57 Million Per Day
The Banten Police Direskrimsus dismantled a fake oil production plant with various brands in Ruko's warehouse in Bizstreet and Ruko Picaso's warehouse, Panongan, Tangerang Regency.
The Head of Banten Public Relations, Kombes Didik Hariyanto, said that in that case two perpetrators were arrested. The two people had the initials HB and HW.
"HB as the owner or financier and assisted by HW as the person in charge in the field," said Didik in his statement, Monday, June 3.
Furthermore, Didik said that HW actors had been producing and trading since 2023. However, it was stopped in March 2024.
Then, HW returned the business in April 2024. Because it has been given capital from HB so that the oil business is resumed.
"Every day they are able to produce 10 drums of various brands of oil and produce 70-100 cartons, each of which contains 24 bottles. The total in a day is capable of producing 2,400 bottles," he said.
Didik said that as long as the business was developed by the two actors, they had made billions of rupiah in profits.
"Merek sells it at a price of Rp. 24 thousand per bottle, in a day it is able to sell 2,400 bottles. So they get Rp. 57.6 million per day. This activity has been running for 3 months with a total turnover of Rp. 5.2 billion," he said.

In the action, the perpetrator produces the fake oil using raw materials in the form of used drum oil mixed with dyes from various colors, according to the oils it will sell.
"The raw materials were obtained from one company with a purchase price of Rp. 16,400 per kilogram, and then after being produced it was traded at a price of Rp. 580 thousand per carton," he explained.
For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 62 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph (1) letters a and/or letters d and/or Article 9 paragraph (1) letter d of Law Number 8 of 1999, concerning Consumer Protection (business actors are prohibited from producing and/or trading goods and/or services that do not meet or do not comply with the required standards.
And Article 113 in conjunction with Article 57 paragraph (2) of Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning trading goods in the country that do not fulfill the mandatory sNI or technical requirements that have been enforced in a mandatory manner as referred to in Article 57 paragraph (2) shall be punished with a maximum imprisonment of 5 years.
