Palestinian PM Mustafa Says Two-State Solution Only Answer for Peace, Stability
JAKARTA - Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said that the two-state solution is the only path to stability and peace, when meeting his Jordanian counterpart, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh on the sidelines of the Jordanian-Palestinian Joint High Committee meeting in Amman.
Prime Minister Mustafa said that what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank not only affects the economy and commercial activities. But also affects the stability and security in the region, which requires involvement in a serious political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
"We have several obligations, both in reconstruction, and in humanitarian matters, emphasizing that the gateway to all these issues lies in ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state," said PM Mustafa, as reported by WAFA on June 3.
PM Mustafa further emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, given the major humanitarian disaster it is facing in order to move towards real and integrated assistance, and to begin to organize the situation and prepare for reconstruction after the destruction.
