PBSI Gives An Explanation About The Increase In Ticket Prices For Indonesia Open 2024
JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) provides an explanation regarding the increase in ticket prices for the Indonesia Open 2024.
The Indonesia Open 2024 will take place from Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. The percentage of increases is also different in the three categories sold by the organizers.
Chairman of the Indonesian Open 2024 Organizing Committee, Armand Darmadji, said that the increase was to cover the total costs incurred because all necessities had also increased.
"The increase in ticket prices is not because we want to make a profit, but indeed this year's regular cost has indeed increased," he said at a press conference on Monday, June 3, 2024.

Tickets for the Indonesia Open 2024 are recorded to have increased in all categories. In total there are three ticket categories sold, consisting of Category I and II as well as VIP categories.
For example, Kategori II tickets for the first two days were released at a price of IDR 150 thousand in the presale or an increase of IDR 25 thousand from last year. Then for the normal price of IDR 150 thousand in the previous edition, now it is sold at IDR 175 thousand.
In the VIP Category, last year's final match was sold in presale at a price of Rp1,750,000 and a normal price of Rp2 million. This year's presale is at Rp1,900,000 and normal is Rp2,150,000.
"As is known, there are so many events that are running. So, we compete with them in rental places and equipment, everything goes up. So, we also need to balance the increase," said Armand.
The Indonesia Open 2024 will be attended by a total of 241 athletes from 22 countries. Indonesia as the host will field 30 athletes.
The organizers provided a fairly large prize this year, which is a total of US$1.3 million or equivalent to Rp20 billion.
