Central Government Builds 5 Hectare Retention Pools To Overcome Kudus Floods
KUDUS - The Central Government helps overcome the flood problems that often occur in Kudus Regency, Central Java, by making a 5 hectare retention pond with budget support of IDR 350 billion.
"For land, there is still a process of acquisition, especially for residents, which must be acquired around 3.5 percent of the 5 hectare needs," said the Field Technical Director of the River Basin Center (BBWS) Pemali Juwana Nisar Suci Raharjo as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 30.
Meskipun demikian, kata dia, sudah ada kemajuan karena tercapai kesepakatan dengan pemilik lahan. Untuk nilai kematulan masih dalam tim penaksisir.
With the construction of a retention pond with a capacity of up to 200,000 cubic meters of water, it is certain that it will be able to reduce the impact of annual flooding in Kota and Jati sub-districts by 80 percent.

Meanwhile, to help dispose of water stored in the retention pond, five pump units are provided with a capacity of 5,000 liters per second each.
The retention pond construction project in Jati Wetan Village, Jati District, Kudus Regency, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024.
The progress of the construction of the retention pond is currently still in the stages of installing stake poles using precast concrete for channel boosters on the north side of the retention pond.
The chairman of the Kudus Masan DPRD expressed his support for the development project, because it is useful to reduce the impact of flooding in Jati District and its surroundings.
He asked for the support of all parties, so that the project runs smoothly, so that the benefits can be felt later when the rainfall is high.
