Qatar Airways Conducts Internal Investigation In The Aftermath Of Turbulence Injures 12 Passengers And Crew

JAKARTA - The airline Qatar Airways stated that it immediately carried out an internal investigation after the plane QR107 experienced severe turbulence, causing six passengers and six crew members to be injured.

"This issue is currently under internal investigation," read a statement by Qatar Airways, Sunday, May 26, quoted from Metro.co.uk.

Airlines also reported that passengers and flight crews who experienced severe turbulence in Turkey's sky immediately received medical treatment after landing on arrival at Dublin Airport, Ireland on Sunday, May 26 at around 13.00 local time.

The severe turbulence that hit Qatar Airways was not long after a similar incident hit Singapore Airlines on the London-Singapore route.

The Singapore Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand, due to extreme turbulence on Tuesday, May 21. As a result of this turbulence, dozens of passengers were injured and one was declared dead.

The passenger who died was Geoffrey Kitchen. The 73-year-old British citizen died of a heart attack when Singapore Airlines' plane experienced severe turbulence.
