Due To Unemployment, 4 Teenagers In Bekasi Commit Theft To Connect Life
BEKASI - Bekasi City Metro Police arrested four perpetrators of violent theft cases in Kampung Jaha RT 05 RW 11 Jati Asih District, Bekasi City, West Java, last Friday, May 10."The four perpetrators have been arrested on May 22, 2024 at the Jalan Kemang Raya boarding house, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bekasi Metro Police AKBP Muhammad Firdaus in a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday, May 24.Firdaus explained that the four actors had different roles.AMB alias Alwi (21) acts as the perpetrator of the theft and stabbing of victims, AK alias Holik (23), RF alias Reka (23) and RF alias A (underage) all three act as jockeys (motor drivers).Firdaus explained the chronology of the incident when the victim WA was about to go home and was intercepted by two unknown people who used motorbikes."The perpetrator Alwi then injured the victim with a sharp weapon and took his motorbike," he said.Firdaus added that this case was successfully uncovered after receiving information about the location of the gathering of the perpetrators."The Bekasi City Metro Police Satreskrim team then conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the four suspects along with evidence, including three motorcycles, STNK, BPKB and sharp weapons of the type of sickle," he said.The modus operandi used by the perpetrators is to search for victims randomly in the Bekasi City area. The suspect, Alwi, who carries a sharp weapon, will order his colleague Reka to approach the victim who is riding a motorcycle.After that, Alwi will threaten the victim with a sharp weapon. "However, when the victim fought back, Alwi slashed it," said Firdaus.The motive for the perpetrators is to earn money. They are a group of teenagers who do not have a job and live in the same boarding house."After getting the proceeds of the crime, they sold it and distributed the money for daily needs and paid for the boarding house," he said.
The four perpetrators are subject to Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence or threats of violence against people with the intention of stealing, with a maximum penalty of 9 years in prison.
