Reveals Virtual Office Mode In Drug Trafficking, Customs And Excise: We Become A Transit Country
The Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) revealed the virtual office mode or address rental service in drug trafficking in Indonesia.
Head of the Sub-Directorate of the Tracking Dog Unit (K-9) of the Narcotics Interdict Directorate of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance, Hengky Tomuan, said that in the virtual office mode, the ultimate goal of drug trafficking is not in Indonesia, but in other countries.
"We are used as transit countries, and in Indonesia syndicates use virtual addresses," said Hengky during the destruction of Narcotics Evidence at the BNN RI Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 21, which was confiscated by Antara.
The case in question is the case with the number LKN 0011 which was revealed by BNN from public information. From this information, BNN officers secured a package containing 1.06 kilograms (kg) of crystal methamphetamine originating from Alohilan St. Hawaii's own.
The package sent by Regaio Gift Shop was originally addressed to Saber Ahmad, which is located at Jalan Asia Afrika, Senayan, Jakarta.
However, after that, BNN officers who were monitoring the package found that the person concerned asked the recipient of the package to change the delivery address to Auckland, New Zealand and send it back via the United Parcel Service (UPS) delivery service.
BNN officers then confiscated the narcotics evidence at the UPS Pasar Minggu Office, Jakarta.
In the future, Hengky emphasized that his party together with BNN will continue to open and uncover various new modes of smuggling or illicit trafficking of narcotics.
"With the cooperation and collaboration that has been established, the function to protect the public from the circulation and entry of prohibited items through the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Trafficking of Narcotics (P4GN) can continue to run well," he said.
