The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency confirmed that illegal parking attendants around the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, had been arrested.

"This condition causes parking problems, especially illegal parking, to continue in Jakarta and other big cities," he continued.
Tigor continued, revenue from illegal parking is not kidding, it can reach hundreds of billions of rupiah per year. This figure is obtained from the average illegal parking rate of Rp. 10,000 assuming 16 thousand SRP or illegal parking points in Jakarta which operate for about eight hours per day.
"If we calculate parking points for only 8 hours of effective parking and one hour on average paying Rp. 10,000, then the income for illegal parking in Jakarta is Rp. 10,000 X 8 X 16,000, which is Rp. 1.28 billion a day, Rp. 38.4 billion a month, and becomes Rp. 460 billion a year," explained Tigor.
Tigor predicts that the amount of illegal parking income in Jakarta can be much greater than simulated. The reason is, the number of illegal parking points in Jakarta today can be more than 16 thousand and the effectiveness can also be more than eight hours, thus affecting the amount of income.
Nirwono Yuga also acknowledged this. He said, many business owners such as cafes or restaurants do not have adequate parking spaces. This is where the gap between the emergence of illegal parking and ironically there is no law enforcement.
"In the end, the illegal fire is not seen as a violation but an opportunity to get money. Rooms that should not be used as parking locations are controlled by certain individuals or mass organizations," said Nirwono Yoga.
"Many illegal parking are controlled by the back of the authorities and mass organizations, why? Because illegal parking produces extraordinary benefits," he concluded.
