The Song D'Masiv Saves Fans' Lives, Rian: That's Why We Can't Disband

JAKARTA - For D'Masiv personnel, the biggest achievement as a band is when their work has a positive impact on their listeners.

Some time ago, social media X was enlivened by the story of someone who intended to commit suicide, then conveyed his intention via message to one of the radio channels.

The broadcaster who was on the broadcast was surprised to know the person's message. He tried to contact the sender of the message and tried to calm him down. Long story short, the person refused to commit suicide.

Interestingly, the broadcaster played several special songs to calm the man who intends to commit suicide, who the song "Don't Give Up" from D 'Masiv is one of the songs played.

Rian, vocalist of D'Masiv who later learned about the incident, spoke up. He said he was relieved that the person had abandoned his intention. For Rian, when the song succeeded in having a positive impact on listeners, although only a few, it became a joy in itself.

"Yes, I'm also surprised, many mention, he said there were people who were calmed down by the broadcaster. He also intended to kill himself but it didn't happen, because (one of them) the song Don't Give Up from D'Masiv. For us it is an award. The award is when our work can be useful for others. That's extraordinary, "said Rian when met at fX Sudirman, Central Jakarta, Friday, May 17.

Pride when it comes to knowing that his work has a positive impact on listeners, said Rian, is a strong reason D'Masiv is still working today. They want artwork to have a positive impact on many people.

"It looks like that's what makes us think, it's impossible for us to disband. We will continue to work, because of what? Because our works are useful for many people," said Rian.

"And we hope for songs on the album 8, apart from reminding ourselves, but it can also be a reminder for others as well," he continued.

Meanwhile, '8' is D'Masiv's latest album to be officially released on digital streaming services on May 20. This album contains 15 new songs with various themes, not only about romance but about life itself.
