Meta Launches Auto Travel Mode For Quest 2 And 3
JAKARTA Meta added Travel Mode into Quest, their virtual reality headset, on Monday, May 13. A new feature that delivers entertainment during this trip launched to Quest 2 and 3. Travel Mode is a feature that makes Quest aware that its users are on board. When this mode is enabled, the device will turn Quest into an entertainment device to watch or play games. "You can watch movies on a big virtual screen, relax with game applications or meditation, and even complete some work," Meta said. "Thanks to our balanced and ergonomic headset design, you can enjoy everything comfortably." Quest users don't need to activate Travel Mode manually because the feature will be automatically active. When a user-uploaded plane has free Wi-Fi, Quest will detect its network and ask for it to be connected. Once connected, Quest will automatically open the browser and users can relax immediately while enjoying any shows they want. Users can also turn off the show and switch to an exciting game to play. "In addition, you will have access to your Quest content library (sure to check whether a particular game or application requires an internet connection first for the best experience)," explains Meta.

In addition, Travel Mode has a special algorithm that can take into account aircraft movements. This ability makes Travel Mode work stably and consistently. Quest will not switch to normal mode when users are still on board.
If Quest users want to experience the new feature, they should join the Experimental Feature section in Settings. "You can then enable and disable Travel Mode from Fast Settings."
For now, Travel Mode only supports on-air travel. However, Meta plans to develop its features and present this mode when the user is on a train or other modes of transportation.
