DPR Asks HKI And UIII Churches To Sit Together To Discuss Land Legality
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VIII DPR RI, Luqman Hakim asked the Indonesian Christian Huria Church (HKI) and the leadership of the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) to sit together to clarify the position of the land.This was conveyed by Luqman in response to the issue of the HKI Church which was threatened with being evicted due to the construction of UIII."The clarity of the position and legality of the land is very important to determine how the best solution between the two is, so that no one will be harmed in the future," said Luqman when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, May 7.Luqman said that valid information regarding the position of land for each, between the HKI Church and UIII is important to know. This, according to him, is needed to eliminate conflicts related to religious issues in the future."This needs to be explained as clearly as possible so as not to become a husk that can ignite the conflict of barnuansa religion in the future," he said.Luqman assessed that every effort for the sake of harmony between religious communities needed to be maximized. Including recommending the HKI Church to remain standing on UII land.
"Regarding how the two (HKI and UIII churches, ed) stood side by side, that's just technical participation," he said.
