Bappenas Integrated The Prabowo-Gibran Free Lunch Program To RKP 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of National Development of the National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) is preparing integration related to the draft work program during the program transition period carried by the elected president, namely, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa said that his party is currently integrating all programs brought by Prabowo-Gibran into the Government Work Plan (RKP) 2025, including the mainstay of free lunch programs to the determination of the government's 2025 work plan.

"All of these programs, including lunch, are included there, of course, according to the government's work plan mechanism based on the law," explained Suharso at the 2024 National Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangnas) at the Jakarta Convention Center, Monday, May 6.

Suharso conveyed that the integration was carried out to ensure the sustainability of development in the 2025 RKP with the theme of accelerating inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

According to Suharso, the free lunch program has been included in his study, including taking into account the government's budget capacity in realizing the program.

Suharso said that in his study, the first thing that was emphasized was the target recipient of the lunch program and ensured that this program could be useful and on target, the second is related, the frequency of its implementation.

Furthermore, taking into account the nutritional standards for implementing the program, such as how many calories must be available in free lunches to be distributed so that there are nutrition improvements.

Suharso said that he then ensured the availability of food types in each region so that this program had an impact on the local area's economy.

"Don't buy eggs from other places, buy tempeh from other places, buy tofu from other places, buy fish from other places but are in the place itself so that it can develop the economy there," he said.

Finally, added Suharso, namely organizing the implementation of the program by considering the country's fiscal capacity to fund the program.

"So, yes, as much as possible we accommodate it because the priority of the elected presidential program is not just that one," he concluded.
