Just Announced, ILLIT Will Change Fandom Name

JAKARTA - K-pop group ILLIT will change the name of their fan group after being announced on Sunday, April 21 yesterday.

The day before, ILLIT held a live broadcast to announce the name of the fan group. They named LILLY, which means 'Unplaced love.'

"This name means ILLIT and LILLY will share irreplaceable love," said Wonhee, one of ILLIT's members.

Shortly after the announcement, a number of BLACKPINK Lisa fans expressed their protest against ILLIT and their agency, BELIFT LAB. They stated LILLY was the name of the fan group created for BLACKPINK's Lisa.

Lisa's party never officially announced it, but on several occasions, Lisa named her fans Lilies.

Realizing this, BELIFT LAB released a statement today, Monday, April 22nd and announced it would officially change the name of the fan group.

We have a notification regarding the name of the ILLIT fan group. Announced for the first time on April 21, the names of fan groups were selected among several candidates combined with fan participation, reflecting our hopes towards ILLIT and its fans," BELIFT LAB said.

"However, we decided to change it after seeing the various concerns that arise. The name of the new fan group will be chosen among the names selected and announced. This naming contest will not be held again," he continued.

"We apologize for the confusion caused and appreciate your understanding. Thank you," concluded the agency.

ILLIT debuted last March with the song Magnetic. This song became the first K-pop debut song to get 100 million total play quickly and enter the Billboard Hot 100 music charts.
