Playing Professional Tennis Player Zendaya Reveals Serena Williams' Reaction

JAKARTA - Zendaya became a professional tennis player in his latest film, Challengers. Recently, he revealed that legend Serena Williams gave an opinion regarding his role in the film.

"He (Serena Williams) reacted like I know for sure there is a tennis ball that is not original," Zendaya said, imitating Serena Williams' comments.

"He's the best," he continued.

Zendaya plays Tashi Duncan, a former tennis player who works as a tennis coach after marrying a tennis player who wins the game.

Furthermore, Zendaya also thanked and apologized for his acting as a tennis athlete in the film Challengers.

"He said his acting was good considering I've never, never touched a tennis ball before," said Zendaya.

"When I found out he was coming (to the premiere), I felt 'No way', this was the coolest thing, so I was so nervous!" he continued.

"I was very nervous because I knew Serena hadn't seen the film at that time, but I was more nervous because she was going to see my tennis (action)," Zendaya said.

Serena Williams is a former tennis player nicknamed one of the best tennis athletes of all time.

Challengers tells the story of Tashi Duncan, a professional tennis player who decides to retire after marrying Art Donaldson (Mike Faist). He supports his husband's career on the field despite repeated defeats.

The challenge came after Art Donaldson competed with Patrick Zweig (Josh O'Connor) who was Duncan's ex-lover.

The film Challengers, directed by Luca Guadagnino, will be shown in Indonesian cinemas.
