Yakub The Motorcycle Thief Arrested By Tanah Abang Residents In The Chicken Cage, Gojek Order To Find Mangsa
The Tanah Abang Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still investigating the perpetrator of the motorcycle theft named Yahya Yakub who was arrested by residents of RT 10/06, Karet Tengsin Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanah Abang Metro Police, Kompol Kukuh Islami, said the perpetrator with the initials YY was a former convict in a cell phone theft case.
"The perpetrator was a former recidivist in the theft case. The suspect initially took a Gojek from his house Petamburan, then got off at the Hilir Dam. The suspect walked and then arrived at the crime scene, he saw the motorbike parked on the terrace of the house," said Kanit when confirmed, Friday, April 19.
The suspect used his motorbike contact to turn on the stolen motorbike. However, his efforts to turn the motorbike on failed, YY immediately pushed the motorbike.

"When it was 100 meters away, the witness who knew the motorbike immediately shouted a thief. Then the motorbike was abandoned, the key was he threw it away and he ran away," he said.
The suspect was arrested by residents while hiding in a resident's chicken coop. However, the suspect's hiding effort was discovered by the residents so that he was caught.
"In his confession, the perpetrator was a former recidivist of theft and was sentenced to two years in prison. The suspect was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of five years in prison," he said.
