Google Cloud Dominates GCN Conference With Artificial Intelligence News

JAKARTA - More than 30,000 participants gathered in Las Vegas to hear the latest news from Google Cloud. The Google Cloud Next (GCN) Conference is an annual event organized by Google Cloud to bring new news, innovations, and updates related to cloud technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and other related topics to developers, IT professionals, executives, and their customers.

This event is a platform for knowledge sharing, business opportunities, and meetings with practitioners and technology industry experts. Usually, this event includes a series of sessions, keynotes, and exhibitions that present various leading opinion leaders, innovators, and industry players.

But this event turned into a place full of artificial intelligence, which presented various latest innovations from Google.

Google Cloud, which is basically a provider of cloud infrastructure and computing platforms, at the event puts a major emphasis on artificial intelligence development. Nonetheless, they seem to be marginally putting their core business aside, except in the context of artificial intelligence.

Some of the announcements made by Google include a number of increased artificial intelligence designed to help customers take advantage of Gemini's big language model (LLM) and increase productivity across platforms. Even so, some visitors feel the demonstrations presented are too simple and tend to focus on the Google ecosystem.

One example that was highlighted was during an e-commerce demonstration where the presenter made a phone call to the vendor to complete online transactions. Although it aims to demonstrate the ability of sales bot communication, this step can actually be done directly by shoppers on websites.

Of course, artificial intelligence has a variety of powerful applications, including code creation, content analysis, and log data analysis to understand the causes of websites experiencing disruption. However, the successful implementation of artificial intelligence within large organizations is still a big challenge.

Big companies need to consider significant changes in adopting this technology, and Google as well as other major vendors may not fully describe the true complexity of the implementation of artificial intelligence.

Vineet Jain, CEO of Egnyte, highlighted the differences between companies that have switched to clouds and those that are still not, as well as potential difficulties for companies left behind to adopt artificial intelligence.

In addition, the implementation of artificial intelligence also depends heavily on the quality of the data. Google offers a wide range of tools to help data engineers manage data sources, but companies that are not digitally ready may face problems in adopting this solution.

Artificial intelligence technology promises great potential, but it takes concrete steps to be widely adopted. This is the main focus of this year's Google Cloud conference in Las Vegas.
