JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that until now there has been no information that Indonesian citizens have been affected in Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel, April 14, 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to closely monitor the escalation of developments in the Middle East region, following Israel's attack on Iran's diplomatic facilities in Damascus.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also continues to communicate and coordinate with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Amman, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran and other Indonesian Representatives in the Middle East, including the situation of Indonesian citizens living in the area.

Judha said the Indonesian Embassy in Amman had established communication with Indonesian citizens living in Israeli territory. The database of the Indonesian Embassy in Amman noted that there were 115 Indonesian citizens in Israel. The majority settled in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Arava.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran noted that there were 376 Indonesian citizens living in Iran. The majority are students or students in Qom City.
