Backflow, ASDP Transfers Truck Crossing From Sumatra To Java Via Bandar Bakau Jaya Port
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has diverted truck crossing services to support the smooth backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri from Java to Sumatra Island and vice versa from Sumatra to Java.
"The ferry ticket service for class VII, VIII and IX trucks at Panjang Port is diverted through Bandar Bakau Jaya Port, Muara Pilu," said Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Shelvy Arifin as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 12.
ASDP functions Panjang Port, which was previously a goods transport port to serve the backflow of Eid two-wheeled passengers (R2) and four-wheeled (R4).
Ticket services for crossing trucks transporting goods, container trucks, and heavy equipment are diverted to Bandar Bakau Jaya Port, Muara Pilu in South Lampung.
"For the ship's schedule and operations, which are the authority of BPTD and KSOP, it will still be communicated," he said.
He said, in service, buffer zones and delaying systems will also be implemented to help officers carry out screening tiets and payloads.

The transfer of these services, he said, could make backflow services at the Ciwan and more ready to be used to anticipate a surge in passengers at the Bakauheni Port-Merak Port.
ASDP noted that in the period April 11, 2024 or two days after Eid, the total number of passengers dispatched from Sumatra Island through Bakauheni Port and Panjang Port to Java Island through Merak Port and Ciwan Port 41,280 people. On the other hand, from Java to Sumatra there were 60,782 people.
In addition to passengers, the total number of R2 and R4 vehicles that were dispatched from Sumatra to Java was 8,974 units. On the other hand, from Java to Sumatra there were 13,347 units.
