Gmail Will Launch Gemini-Backed Summary Feature
JAKARTA Google continues to expand the use of Gemini in its various products. This large language model (LLM) has been added to various Google Workspace services, including the Gmail service.
There are several Artificial Intelligence (AI) features that have been added to Gmail, one of which is the email summary feature. However, not all Gmail users can access this feature because the feature is only available to Google Workspace Labs users.
Apart from being limited to some users, the email summary feature is also only available on the website version. Google did not explain when this feature would be rolled out into the app, but they were secretly preparing the feature.
Found for the first time by Piunikaweb, the Ringkas Email feature will be rolled out in the form of a button. When the user opens the email in, they will see the button under the email title so that this Email Ringkas can be used easily.

Features seen in the v2024.03.31.621006929 version are still in the initial testing phase because the buttons cannot be used yet. It is also not known what the appearance of the results of the features in the app version looks like because the interface is different from the website.
It looks like Gmail will display the results of Ringkas Email This in a pop-up window at the bottom of the screen. They will display a summary of the email information in the form of points to make it more understandable.
This feature has only been developed for Android and has not been found in the iOS version. However, seeing that the application is still in its early development stage, it looks like Gmail users will have to wait a few months until the feature is launched to the public.
