Police Arrest 4 Thieves Accompanied By Violence In Holtekamp Jayapura, 2 Abepura Prison Recidivists
PAPUA - Police arrested four perpetrators of theft accompanied by violence around the Holtekamp area, Muara Tami District, Jayapura City, Papua.
"It is true that the four perpetrators of theft and violence that often occur in the Holtekamp area have disturbed the public," said Jayapura City Police Chief Kombes Victor Mackbon in Jayapura, Friday, April 5, as reported by Antara.
He explained that the case was revealed when a gang consisting of BT, AJN, PT and BW threatened a pair of young people who were relaxing around Holtekamp and snatching the victim's belongings on Saturday, March 30 evening.
However, one of the victims screamed so that residents who passed by helped the victim so that one of the perpetrators was arrested, namely BT and from his confession three of his colleagues were arrested, said Mackbon.
He explained that from the investigation carried out by investigators, it was revealed that four perpetrators admitted that during their action there were six people and had committed eight violent acts of theft.
Of the four people arrested, two of them are recidivists who previously served sentences at the Abepura Penitentiary (Lapas).

Investigators also secured two motorbikes, one medium-sized kitchen knife and several pieces of clothing from the perpetrators, all of which had ties or had something to do with the crime committed.
"The perpetrators who have been named as suspects are subject to Article 365 paragraph (2) of the 2nd Criminal Code concerning violent theft with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison," said Kombes Victor.
