Denying Hasto's Statement Of Rebutting Megawati's Chair, Jokowi: Don't Be Like That

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) denied the issue of him wanting to seize Megawati Soekarnoputri's position as Chairman of the PDI-P.

When responding to the media crew's question about the issue, President Jokowi joked about his position as chairman of another party.

"Isn't Golkar?" President Jokowi replied in a press statement after releasing humanitarian aid for Palestine and Sudan at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 3.

When asked further, President Jokowi then denied various issues related to him who wanted to seize the position of General Chair of the Golkar Party and the General Chair of the PDI-P.

"He said he wanted to fight for Golkar, he said he wanted to fight... when all want to be taken away? Don't... don't be like that," said the President as quoted by ANTARA.

On the previous occasion, PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said President Jokowi wanted the chair of general chairman who is currently still occupied by Megawati Soekarnoputri.

According to Hasto, this effort was taken because President Jokowi wanted to maintain his leadership.
