Turkish Detailed Drone Successfully Completes UAV-122 Supersonic Missile Shooting Test

JAKARTA - The Turkish Detailed Bayraktar fighter drone successfully completed a central UAV-122 supersonic missile test this month, Baykar producers said in its announcement on social media.

Developed by Roketsan, the UAV-122 supersonic missile is very precise, has fast firing power support, low or high altitude orbit options, and high maneuverability.

Baykar Chief Technology Officer Sel Mariuk Bayraktar, shared footage of a test-fire carried out by Bayraktar Ak fire with the UAV-122 missile on his account on platform X with the title "Turkey Aviation Packaging Zaman", reported by the Daily Sabah March 28.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Roketsan Murat Inci wrote on X: "We are proud to achieve progress on the path taken with our national technology."

"Our UAV-122 missile managed to complete a test-firing conducted from UAV Ak Latinc. I congratulate everyone involved," he added.

First delivered to the armed forces at the end of August 2021, Ancinci is Turkey's most advanced and most recent drone that has amassed 40,000 flight hours.

The drone has hit record flight heights for Turkey and various export deals, including the country's largest defense contract in the country's history, agreed with Saudi Arabia last year.

His latest variant, Bayraktar Akinci C, completed his debut flight with a new and more powerful engine last month.

Baykar is Turkey's largest defense exporter, which generated sales worth nearly $1.8 billion in 2023, out of total state sales of $5.5 billion.
