18 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of gorilla tobacco failed to be smuggled into the Kebonwaru Detention Center (Rutan), Bandung, West Java (Jabar) on Tuesday, March 26.
Head of the Bandung Class I Detention Center, Suparman, said that the disclosure began when the officers were examined at the entrance gate of the detention center after a detainee with the initials ALM attended the trial at the Bandung District Court (PN).
"After the handover was made from the prosecutor's office, the detainees were searched by officers," said Suparman in Bandung, Thursday, March 28, which was confiscated by Antara.
Suparman explained that during the search, officers obtained 37 clear plastic clips containing crystal methamphetamine and gorilla tobacco in two packs of cigarettes carried by ALM.
He admitted that after finding the findings, officers immediately coordinated with the West Java Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) for further investigation.
"Officers demolished the two packs of cigarettes. 37 packs of white crystals were found suspected of being methamphetamine and a pack of tobacco," he said.
