Hundreds Of Cakung Residents Queue For New Money Exchange To Be Distributed During Eid

JAKARTA Hundreds of residents of the Milling Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Tuesday, March 26, enthusiastically exchanged new denominations at a mobile money exchange service facilitated by Bank Indonesia (BI) on the RW 09 Secretariat page, Cakung.

Around 500 residents are willing to queue to exchange new denominations to be distributed during Eid later.

The majority of the elderly have been queuing since 09.00 WIB to get new denominations with a nominal value of Rp1,000, Rp2,000, Rp5,000, Rp10,000 and Rp20,000 at the money exchange service.

One mobile money service car was closely guarded by two members of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Polda Metro Jaya complete with long-barreled weapons on standby in the area of the RW 09 Secretariat.

According to him, the enthusiasm of the public to exchange new money is very high, especially since the residents who exchanged the new money came not only from RW 09, but other residents.

"In order to queue in an orderly manner based on the number distributed by the RW 09 management. It was also divided into two sessions," said Koiman.

Residents who want to exchange new denominations are limited, a maximum of IDR 4 million.

One of the residents of RW 09, Ani (60) admitted that she was willing to queue to get new bills for Eid later.

"The plan is for this new bill to be distributed to his grandchildren," he said.

According to him, there is no difficulty getting a queue number to exchange the new bills.

Ani said that the exchange of new denominations was limited, where one package contained denominations of Rp. 20,000, Rp. 10,000, Rp. 5,000, Rp. 2,000 and Rp. 1,000, with a maximum exchange of Rp. 4 million.

"I didn't exchange all the money, because I couldn't exchange the money according to our wishes. The exchange of money was a maximum of 4 million, but the nominal was determined by BI. So, I only exchanged 2 million money, because I didn't exchange the new Rp. 20,000 money," he said.

Another resident, Ahmad Sabran (65) said that he exchanged a new Rp4 million denomination to be distributed to his grandchildren during Eid.

"The plan is for this new money for family and grandchildren," he said.

He also admitted that there was no difficulty getting a queue number. However, he waited a long time to get new bills.

"I have been waiting since 09.00 WIB, and I just got the money at 11.30 WIB because the residents who exchanged the new money did not only come from residents of RW 09," he said.
