Hundreds Of West Semper Residents Of North Jakarta Refuge Due To Floods
Due to heavy rains that have occurred since early Friday, a number of areas in Cilincing District, North Jakarta (Jakut) have experienced flooding. A total of 198 residents fled because of the water discharge that submerged their houses.
"The information we have received is that there are 198 people who have fled to the Embrio Flats at this time," said Head of the North Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept., Rizqon Hermawan, Friday, March 22.
Rizqon said the North Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept. would distribute ready-to-eat food aid and the need for clothing for residents who fled to the location.
The displaced residents consisted of RT 3, RT 4, RT 8, RT 11, RT 12, RT 13, RT 16, and RT 18 Semper Barat Village.
The 198 displaced residents consisted of 55 families living in Semper Barat Village.
According to Rizqon, as many as 198 people consisted of 85 men and 113 women, 16 of whom were elderly, 12 toddlers and three toddlers.
"There was a resident with disabilities who took refuge," he said.

Rizqon ensured that his party coordinated well with the sub-district and DKI Jakarta Provincial Office regarding the distribution of aid in the current situation.
"We will distribute aid soon," he said.
It is known that heavy rains that occurred in North Jakarta on Friday morning caused flooding in a number of places.
In addition to submerging houses and residents' residences, the flood also submerged a number of roads that caused vehicle access to be hampered on Friday morning.
