Fake Money Printer And Dealer In North Cikarang Arrested
BEKASI The making and circulation of counterfeit money in North Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java was successfully uncovered by the Bekasi Metro Police. The police have named two suspects in this case, GP and SD.
"The perpetrators made counterfeit money to be sold or circulated again. Where the counterfeit money was sold by the perpetrators in a ratio of one to five," said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Kombes Twedi Aditya, Antara, Tuesday, March 19. According to Kombes Twedi Aditya's statement, every five pieces of counterfeit Rp100 thousand denominations are valued at Rp100 thousand.
The beginning of the case began on Thursday, February 29. GP perpetrators received orders for counterfeit money through social media of Rp. 5 million with a COD system or paid on the spot. "Then GP informed SD that there was an order to the Cikarang area and asked to be delivered to the location," he said. After making the payment, the two perpetrators left the location and headed to a Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU). Not long after that a number of police officers approached the two perpetrators and made arrests.

Then the police took the two perpetrators to show the location where they made the counterfeit money. "From the two perpetrators, a number of evidences were secured, such as paper cutting tools, 300 white paper sheets, 29 paper glue, 12 ink bottles, 10 plastic noodles and a number of other items," said Twedi. The police charged the two perpetrators with Article 36 paragraph 1 and paragraph 3 of Law Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency. Then Article 244 of the Criminal Code and Article 245 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of 15 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 15 billion.
