EHang Launches EH216-S Flying Taxi At Taobao For IDR 2.39 Billion
JAKARTA - Chinese drone company, EHang, started selling EH216-S model flying taxis at Taobao for 2.39 million yuan (IDR 5.2 billion) on Monday, March 18. EHang obtained a safety clearance certification from China's aviation authority in October.
EHang Holidings is a Chinese technology company engaged in drone development and manufacturing and flying taxis. Founded in 2014, EHang has become a leader in the autonomous passenger drone industry (AAV).
The recent eVTOL demonstration flight (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) from EHang marked the successful debut of the EH216-S, a pilotless aircraft in Latin America. This flight took place at The Westin Reserva Conchal Resort, Costa Rica, witnessed directly by officials and national media.
The demonstration aims to show the superiority of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) towards the sustainable and innovative development and growth of a country. In addition, it is exhibited how this new mode of transportation can improve the quality of life of citizens and the experiences of visitors.
The EHang EVTOL demonstration flight underscores the flexibility of the EH216-S for various applications, such as tourism, air tourism, airport commuter trips to cities and resorts, medical delivery services, and emergency response operations.

So far, EHang has produced various types of drones, including passenger drones, cargo drones, and drones for public services such as fire engines and infrastructure inspections.
EHang offers air taxi services using the EH216 drone, which can carry two passengers and fly up to 35 kilometers on a single charge.
