Indonesia Inaugurates The First Honorary Consul For Palestine In Ramallah In Today's Memory, March 13, 2016
JAKARTA Memories of today, eight years ago, March 10, 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu), Retno Marsudi, emphasized that Indonesia's support for Palestine has never been extinguished. The narrative was realized by the inauguration of Indonesia's first Honorary Consul for Palestine, Maha Abu-Shusheh, who is based in Ramallah, in Amman, Jordan.
Previously, Indonesia's support for Palestine had been going on for a long time. Everything to realize the narrative of colonialism on earth must be abolished.
The attitude of anti-colonialism and imperialism is a valuable lesson that Indonesia learned from colonialism. This narrative is because the Indonesian people have understood how nestapa lives as an colonized nation.
Life like it is at its lowest level, not to mention that the Indonesian people must occupy the social caste at the lowest level. The Indonesian nation also did not forget the suffering of colonialism after independence.
In accordance with Indonesia, it also reverberates that colonialism above the world must be abolished in the opening of the 1945 Constitution (UUD 45). This wish is not just an empty message.
Support for Palestine, which lives like the colonized of Israel, is an example. The 1st President of Indonesia, Soekarno, did not want to admit the independence of Israel, which was proclaimed by David Ben-Gurion on May 14, 1948.
Bung Karno is of the view that Israel is like an colonialist in the modern era. The power of Israel to annex the land of the Palestinian people was 'assisted by the United States (US) behind it. This support was clearly seen in the first implementation of the Asia-Africa Conference (KAA) on April 18-24, 1955 in Bandung, West Java.
Support for Palestine boomed. In fact, Israel was not invited to the KAA celebration. The attitude of favoring Palestine was also shown by the Indonesian government, even in the era of Jokowi's government.
The 7th Indonesian president participated in repeating the same narrative as Bung Karno had sung. He fully supports Palestine at the 60th Asia-African Summit at JCC Jakarta, April 22, 2015.
We and the world still owe it to the Palestinian people. We must continue to fight with them. We must support the birth of an independent Palestinian State. I said that the time had to end.
"Therefore, after this there will be a follow-up meeting for Palestine. Colonialization in Palestine is now time to end. Indonesia will continue to fight for the full membership of Palestine at the United Nations," Jokowi explained as quoted on the State Secretariat website, April 22, 2015.
President Jokowi also continues to provide support for Palestinian independence. He plans to open the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to Palestine. The pinnacle of being loved by scholars arrived. Jokowi, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi moved to realize this big breakthrough.
