Bamsoet About Opportunities To Become Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Again: Depends On Party Orders
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) answered about the opportunity for him to serve as chairman of the DPR again if the Golkar Party won the 2024 Legislative Election.
As the supporting party that won the 2024 presidential election, the quick count or quick count version, Golkar has the potential to occupy the DPR 1 seat.
"I depend on the party's assignment and orders," said Bamsoet, Friday, March 8.
Bamsoet was reluctant to answer whether he was ready or not to become chairman of the DPR again. Because according to him, many banyan party cadres also have the same opportunity.
"I can't say ready or not ready. Because there are also many good cadres," he said.
According to the Chairman of the MPR, the position of chairman of the DPR is still in accordance with the election rules for the chairman of the DPR as stated in Law Number 2 of 2018 concerning the MPR, DPR, DPRD and DPD (MD3), namely the winning political party for the 2024 Legislative Election.
"The chairman of the DPR is in accordance with the provisions of the MD3 Law, so the chairman of the DPR is occupied by the owner of the most seats in parliament," explained Bamsoet.

Bamsoet did not deny the possibility of changes in the rules of the MD3 Law. However, he must admit that currently the Golkar Party's votes are still under the PDIP.
"There may be, we'll just see the trend. To this day I haven't seen any more, whether Golkar's voice has exceeded PDIP. But two days ago I saw Golkar was still below PDIP," he said.
Therefore, Bamsoet assessed that the position of chairman of the DPR must continue to follow the applicable rules. He refused if there was a revision of the MD3 Law just to accommodate his party being the leader of Parliament. Because according to him, all parties must maintain political stability.
"In my opinion, we must maintain political stability and a conducive atmosphere after this election. Do not bring up things that make us noisy," said Bamsoet.
"I was the first person to disagree if there was a push for change in the MD3 Law," he concluded.
