Nyepi Day, ASDP Closes Ketapang-Gilimanuk And Padangbai-Lembar Crossing Services
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) temporarily closed the Ketapang-Gilimanuk and Padangbai-Lembar crossing services starting Monday (11/3) at 05.00 WITA to Tuesday (12/3) at 06.00 WITA.
The closure was carried out in order to welcome Nyepi Day Saka Year 1946 which falls on Monday (11/3).
"To honor Hindus who celebrate Nyepi Holy Day, especially on the island of Bali, where the majority of the people are Hindus, ASDP will close ASDP port and crossing operational services which are one of the entrance and exit gates from the island of Bali," said PT ASDP Indonesia Corporate Secretary Ferry (Persero) Shelvy Arifin as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 8.
Shelvy said the closure of the two routes to and from the island of Bali followed up on the Joint Call on the Implementation of the Silent Day Series of Caka New Year 1946, which was signed by religious leaders and community leaders, who are members of the Bali Province Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) and the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Province of Bali.
The joint appeal, which was signed on February 2, 2024, was also known by the Bali Regional Police Chief, the Commander of the Military Resort Command 163/Wira Satya, and the Acting Governor of Bali.
Meanwhile, crossing services from Ketapang Port were closed on Monday (11/3) at 01.00 WITA, and the last service was for regular ships from Ketapang Port on Sunday (10/3) at 23.00 WITA.
To anticipate service users who have not been transported from Gilimanuk Port, continued by an extra post/ship ship that will operate until 05.00 WITA, then Gilimanuk Port will be closed at 05.00 WITA.

The first ship from Ketapang Port will depart on Tuesday (12/3) at 05.00 WIB. Furthermore, the departure of the last ship from Padangbai Harbor to Lembar Harbor before Nyepi starts is on Monday (11/3) at 03.30 WITA. As for the first departure after Nyepi Day, namely on Tuesday (12/3/) at 10.00 WITA.
ASDP also appealed to all service users to arrange their travel schedule according to the port's operational schedule. ASDP has also instructed shipping operators operating on both routes to socialize the temporary closure of crossing activities to service users.
"Given that there is no service for 24 hours, it is hoped that service users can pay more attention to their arrival to the port. Resure the ship's departure schedule and immediately purchase tickets long ago, considering that current ticket purchases can be made from D-60," said Shelvy.
