Collaborating With University Of Indonesia, Yandex Holds AI Technology Seminar

JAKARTA Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Yandex, a technology service provider company, held seminars on the latest developments in Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), data science, and computation.

This event presented the Director of UI Advisory, Firdaus R. Rony, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Arry Yanuar, Lecturer of the Faculty of Computer Sciences Dr. Muhammad Hilman, VP Strategy Yandex Alexander Popovskiy, and many more as participants.

Firdaus, in his material session, said that he expected a collaboration in data and AI between Indonesia and Russia. Firdaus also highlighted the importance of other companies competing in this sector in addition to well-known technology giants.

Meanwhile, Popovskiy, who took the time to attend, conveyed efforts to achieve a balance between innovation and maintain human values in developing AI solutions and machine learning.

Popovskiy explained that this approach plays an important role in Yandex's development. This balance helps Yandex develop Russia's AI code of ethics along with the country's AI alliance, public institutions, and the scientific community.

"This event marks an important step towards a future where AI not only functions as a tool for the benefit of the community, but also adheres to safety and ethical standards," Popovskiy explained in his statement.

The technology seminar at UI is the fifth event of a series of campaigns driven by Yandex. This campaign is a collaboration between Yandex and the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia (Kominfo).

Prior to holding a seminar at UI, Yandex had held four seminars at Gadjah Mada University, University of Education Indonesia, Padjadjaran University, and Bandung Institute of Technology. The entire event was attended by 350 participants who were interested in AI technology.
