SpaceX Sued For Allegations Of Sexual Harassment

JAKARTA Michelle Dopak, aSpaceX employee, said that she experienced sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and unequal wages at the office. Therefore, she sued SpaceX.

During his seven years working at SpaceX's head office in faraway, Dopak stated that he was sexually forced by his superiors. When trying to report to the company's executive, his report was ignored.

From a lawsuit filed with the California Court, quoted from The Verge, it was recorded that Dopak filed eleven complaints. All of these complaints, "disapproved by the Defendant of Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX)."

Despite sexual harassment and coercion, Dopak is still working because the managers are trying to stop him. According to Dopak's confession, he had to work 12 hours a day and only get one day off a week.

Dopak, in his lawsuit, also claimed that SpaceX tried to force itself to arbitrage or resolve problems outside the sentencing court. In fact, this action is prohibited under federal law.

The company should not force its employees to convert sexual harassment claims into arbitration since 2022. Tesla, another company owned by Elon Musk, has done so and that action is strictly prohibited.

Apart from being sued for sexual harassment cases, SpaceX is also the subject of a class action lawsuit over salary and promotion inequality. This action was also taken against women and underage workers.
