SERANG - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that most areas of Banten have the potential to be hit by extreme weather in the form of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning.The Coordinator for Data and Information of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of the Class I Maritime Meteorological Station of Serang, Tatang stated, most areas of Banten have the potential to be hit by extreme weather in the afternoon and occur in six areas with an average air temperature of 23-33 degrees Celsius and winds moving from the southwest and northwest at 05-30 kilometers per hour and a humidity level of 60-95 percent."The six areas that have the potential to be hit by extreme weather are Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, Serang Regency, Lebak Regency, and Pandeglang Regency," said Tatang in Serang, Antara, Thursday, March 7.Therefore, the BMKG issued an early warning of heavy rain alerts accompanied by strong winds and lightning/lightning, because it has the opportunity to cause hydrometeorological disasters, such as floods, landslides, ground movement, tornadoes and high waves.Meanwhile, the Serang City and Cilegon City areas did not issue an early warning.In addition, the BMKG issued an early warning for shipping players, especially fishermen who used small boats and barges that crossed the southern waters of Banten, the southern Sunda Strait and the Indian Ocean.Currently, the wave height in the waters ranges from 1.25 to 2.50 meters (medium) on the coasts of Lebak and Pandeglang Regencies.
