KPU Checks Deactivated PPLN Kuala Lumpur Members

JAKARTA - The General Elections Commission (KPU) is examining members of the Kuala Lumpur Overseas Election Committee (PPLN), Malaysia whose status has been deactivated.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said the investigation was carried out in the aftermath of the alleged election fraud in Kuala Lumpur carried out by PPLN Kuala Lumpur.

"Because there were reports of complaints from several parties to the DKPP, because the authority was not in the DKPP, it was submitted to the KPU, because of the examination, it was decided to be temporarily dismissed, not permanently dismissed," said Hasyim at the KPU office, Jakarta, February 27.

According to Hasyim, the alleged violation of PPLN Kuala Lumpur based on the complaint is a serious problem because it can affect the integrity of election organizers.

The re-voting or PSU in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be held on March 9-10 without the Pos method.

"The plan is for PSU mobile ballot boxes (KSK) in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, March 9, 2024, then, the TPS method on Sunday, March 10, 2024," explained Hasyim.

The post method is no longer used by the KPU because many problems are found, especially in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) and the address of the sent ballot is unclear.
