Jambi-Padang Line Traffic Is Completely Paralyzed By Floods, Infectious Vehicles

SUMATRA - The Sumatra highway that connects Jambi-Padang West Sumatra (West Sumatra) is completely paralyzed.

The flood occurred at that point due to the overflow of water onto the shoulder of the road, precisely at Simpang Ratu Balqis, Jujuhan District, Bungo Jambi Regency, Sunday, February 25 morning.

"The cause is two, first because of the overflowing water at Simpang Ratu Balqis, the second is about two kilometers from the first point towards Jambi, there is also river water overflowing on the national road," said Sungai Rumbai Police Chief, AKP Suyatno, on Punjung Island, Sunday, February 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, two points causing the paralysis of traffic flow have entered the Jujuhan District, Bungo Jambi Regency. Where it borders directly with Sungai Rumbai District, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra.

He stated that until now the traffic flow was still paralyzed from two directions, as a result of the incident the long line of vehicles "contagious" from Padang to Jambi had reached Sungai Rumbai Market.

"Earlier, the vehicle was moving, the latest information was not far from the Simpang Ratu Balqis river water also overflowed so that it closed the shoulder of the road. Regarding the name of the river, we are still gathering information," he said.

However, what is clear is that his party has coordinated with the Jujuhan Police regarding the incident, as well as Sungai Rumbai Police personnel are already in two locations where congestion is located.

"We have also communicated with the Jujuhan Police, personnel have also been dispatched to the location to see the situation firsthand," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the residents of Asam Jujuhan District, Dharmasraya Regency, Marhajas also confirmed the incident, a long queue also occurred from Jambi to Padang.

"We from Asam Jujuhan want to go to the capital city of Dharmasraya this morning, traffic jams have occurred when we entered the limit of the Rumbai River, according to information that water residents overflowed onto the shoulder of the road accompanied by a road that collapsed at Simpang Ratu Balqis," he said.

He added that most residents of Asam Jujuhan Subdistrict will pass national roads in the Jujuhan area to go to the Rumbai River or the district capital.

"Due to traffic jams, we were forced not to be able to participate in activities at the Bawaslu office of Dharmasraya Regency this morning," added the Chairman of Panwaslu, Asam Jujuhan District.
