John Wick's Spin-off Film, Ballerina Delays Release Until 2025

JAKARTA - The latest news comes from the production of the spin-off for the film John Wick, Ballerina. The Lionsgate production house changed the release date for the film Ballerina from June 7, 2024 to June 6, 2025. On June 7, 2024, it was then given to the remake film The Crow, directed by Rupert Sanders.

Quoting Variety, currently director of Ballerina, Len Wiseman is working on several additional scenes for the film, while The Crow film is ready to be circulated. Therefore, the production house considers Ballerina can still be postponed.

Ballerina tells of a skilled fighter in Ruska Roma. The film stars Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Badminton, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane.

Written by Shay Hatten, Keanu Reeves as John Wick is also said to be starring in this film based on a character made by Derek Kolstad.

Meanwhile, the film The Crow tells the story of Eric Draven (Bill Skarsguntingrd) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) who were brutally murdered by demons from the past. Dr.raven is determined to save her true love by finding out who killed them.

This film is a modern version of The Crow which is still adapted from the graphic novel by James O'Barr. Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger also played this film.

The Crow is set to premiere on June 7, 2024 in theaters replacing the delayed release date of the Ballerina film.
