Alan Wake 2 Has Sold 1.3 Million Units, So Remedy Is The Best Selling Game Today

JAKARTA - Developer Remedy Entertainment on its official website has announced that its game, Alan Wake 2, has sold approximately 1.3 million units until early February 2024.

Alan Wake 2, which was first released in October 2023, has won critical praise worldwide. In addition, the developer also said that Alan Wake 2 has been the best-selling Remedy so far.

"Today, Remedy Entertainment Plc. announced that Alan Wake 2 had sold 1 million units by the end of December 2023, and 1.3 million units in early February 2024," the studio wrote.

In comparison, Alan Wake 2 managed to sell more than 50% more copies and three times more digital copies in the first two months, than Control did in the first four months.

Since its release in 2019, Control has sold more than 4 million units, resulting in a net income of around 100 million euros or around IDR 1.68 trillion. This income is also expected to occur in Alan Wake 2.

"We are pleased with the start of selling Alan Wake 2. Price points are also at a high level, and games have closed most of the development and marketing costs," said CEO Remedy Tero Virtala.

Virtala also promised that they will continue to develop the game to serve existing fans and attract new players and expect the game to continue to sell well.

"The successful launch of Alan Wake 2 has supported our other gaming projects: CONTROL, Control 2 and Max Payne 1&2 remake have all increased development rates thanks to personnel released from Alan Wake 2, and we hope these projects will reach the next development stage during the first half of 2024," he continued.

Currently, Remedy has two successful franchises, namely Control and Alan Wake, which are connected through the Remedy Connected Universe. "Creating and expanding this franchise will be an important part of our future," he concluded.
