4,615 Election Vote Letters In 2024 Excessive And Production Defects Destroyed By The Indonesian KPU

TANGERANG - The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) destroyed 4,615 voters from abroad. The destruction was carried out at the KPU RI logistics warehouse, Benda, Tangerang City, Tuesday afternoon, February 13.

Head of the Indonesian KPU Logistics Bureau, R Suryanto, said that there were two kinds of ballots that were destroyed, namely the sheets of the President-Deputy President and the Indonesian House of Representatives in the 2nd Electoral District of DKI Jakarta.

Suryanto said, in destroying the ballot, his party invited the Tangerang police and Soekarno Hatta Airport. In addition, he also invited the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

"So today, two kinds of ballots were destroyed, namely 1,969 sheets of presidential and vice-presidential ballots and 2,646 ballots for the DPR RI candidates for DKI Jakarta," said Suryanto to reporters in Tangerang City, Tuesday, February 13.

Suryanto explained that the excess ballots are ballots whose production is more than the number of Permanent Voter Lists (DPT) in a country.

Not only that, but his party also destroyed damaged ballots such as torn ink. So that it can lead to unwanted indications.

"There is a stain of ink, maybe a candidate on his face, or his body is exposed to ink so that it will disturb someone or maybe later he thinks he has been given a sign," he concluded.
