King Charles III Undergoes Treatment Due To Cancer, Here's The Delegation Of The British Royal Succession Tasks And Paths

JAKARTA - Buckingham Palace, Britain announced King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer, after previously spending three nights in hospital last month on prostate enlargement treatment procedures.

The palace said there were separate issues of concern while being hospitalized, but gave no further details than saying the test had revealed that the king was suffering from cancer.

"No further details were shared at this stage, except to ensure that His Majesty did not suffer from prostate cancer," the palace said.

"Her Majesty has started a routine maintenance schedule today, and during that time she has been advised by doctors to postpone publicly related tasks," the palace said, quoted by CNN.

"Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to carry out state affairs and documents as usual," added the palace.

If the King is seriously ill and unable to carry out his full duties for a while, he can delegate some of the tasks to two or more State Counselors.

The State Counselors of the United Kingdom are Queen Camilla, Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and Princessmen.

So, what if the King really cannot carry out his constitutional duties, so that the state will no longer run as it should? The king descended the throne and was replaced by his successor based on the royal line of success.

Citing the British Royal Site, The Succession to the Crown Act (2013) changed the provisions in Bill of Rights and Act of Settlement to end the male eldest system, where younger boys can replace older girls in the line of succession.

The law applies to those born after October 28, 2011. The law also ends the provisions in which those married to Roman Catholics were disqualified from lineage.

Based on this, Prince William is at the top of the successor to the royal throne. Behind him, in a row there are three children with Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

In the next succession line, there is Prince Harry in fifth place, followed by two children with Meghan Markle, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana.

In the eleventh position, there was Putri Eugenie, Putrixi's sister, who was then followed by her two children from her marriage to Jack Brooksbank, August Brooksbank and Ernest Brooksbank.
